Trigemnial Neuralgia (TN) is the one of the most pain syndrome. Electric shock like, stabbing/shooting pain along the trigemnial nerve in the face. Touching of face, chewing, talking etc can trigger Neuralgia pain. Dental disease, vascular malformations , Tumors, sinusitis may cause TN. The pain occurs more in the middle aged people. Women have more probability than men for the getting this condition.
Treatment is specific to each patient according to his/her conditions. Carbamazepine is most often used drug for TN. Small interventional pain therapies and surgery may be used when drug therapy is failed.
